Hello

I am Rikki Clark McCoy. Therapist and founder of Flourishing Minds. I started my journey into the mental health profession working with the Suicide Prevention Program for the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities in 2010.  I’ve worked in an array of clinical settings, to include: providing 24/7 crisis line support and intervention services  for mental health and substance abuse needs in the state of Georgia, private inpatient psychiatric treatment facilities, state inpatient psychiatric treatment facilities, and public schools in the metro Atlanta area.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Georgia. I obtained my Master of Social Work degree from Clark Atlanta University, and my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Fayetteville State University in North Carolina.  My professional affiliations include the Georgia Society for Clinical Social Workers.

Previous work experiences have given me the opportunity to work closely with clients and families in all phases of treatment. My goal is to help clients overcome obstacles that may be standing in the way of personal success. Clients have described me as being supportive, down to earth, and knowledgeable about current societal issues.

I integrate trauma informed yoga, breathwork, meditation and sound healing as holistic strategies to help create safety in the mind, body, and spirit. I use these evidence-based holistic tools in partnership with therapeutic model(s) to create a treatment approach designed specifically for you. I utilize the following theoretical concepts: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, and Solution Focused Therapy.

Additional specialty areas include: Mindfulness, Stress Management, Work-Life Balance, Life Transitions, Anxiety, Depression, Finding your Purpose, Young Adulthood, Sexuality, and Postpartum Depression.

When I am not in therapist mode, my personal life is pretty busy. I'm a wife, a mother to a wonderful 8 year old boy, a sister, a daughter, and friend. I enjoy yoga, music, traveling, and exploring different cultures.

I also host The Flourishing Minds Wellness Retreat providing a safe place to explore holistic wellness, community, self-care, and exploration. Check out our upcoming retreats here.
