SETTING GOOD INTENTIONS
The older I get the more I realize that without good intentions it is easy to fall into the trap of letting life happen to you. To set a good intention is to activate your ability to manifest what you intend to attract into your life. Setting good intentions will help create more inner peace and clarity.
Since a teenager I would tell myself, “You can create the life you desire to live.” Growing up in a small town, this is a thought that I had to remind myself repeatedly. I had no idea how to go about creating the life I wanted.
Below I am going to share 10 ways to set good intentions. We must be open to change so that we aren’t ignoring what we need to live our lives with purpose. Because you are worth more than just going through the motions of life.
1. CREATE A MANTRA
Think about what it is you want to accomplish and consider all the ways you’re subconsciously blocking yourself from getting it. Pay attention to all those negative thoughts and create a positive mantra to repeat until you are determined to accomplish what you’ve set out to do.
2. SHARE YOUR INTENTION WITH A FRIEND
Sharing what you want with someone else will keep you focused and hold you accountable to your goals.
3. STATE YOUR INTENTION TO YOURSELF
When you wake in the morning get into the habit of verbally stating what you desire to yourself. This can be a mantra or a few sentences. There is power in claiming the life you want.
4. CREATE A RITUAL
Incorporate your intentions in your existing morning routine. If your life is as busy as mine, there isn’t much time for a morning routine, but you have to make the time to create one for yourself because you know it’s necessary to achieve your goals. Make some time to state your intentions before making your coffee, scrolling through your timelines, or heading out into the chaos.
I’ve been meditating consistently for the past year and let me tell you, it is so beneficial to our mental health and well-being. Meditation can improve sleep, ease tension, and help get rid of anxiety. Why not alleviate anxious thoughts and direct that energy to helping achieve your goals?
6. PRACTICE GRATITUDE
Focus on what you do have and what you are grateful for in this moment. Practice gratitude for the thing you deeply desire. By repeatedly stating your intention and focusing on what you have, you’re working towards your goal.
7. ASK FOR WHAT YOU WANT THEN LET GO
Before your day starts state what you want. Think about it, envision it, and then resist the urge to control every aspect of your day so that whatever you desire will happen naturally. Trust the process.
8. REMIND YOURSELF DAILY
The best way to truly set an intention is to be firm and stick to it. You must create a habit every morning to set your intentions and keep focused when things get difficult.
9. CONSIDER YOUR FEELINGS
To set an intention it is necessary to get super specific about what you want and how you will feel once you get it. Tap into your emotions to make your dreams feel real.
10. WRITE IT DOWN
Before bed, write down your goals. Spell out what they are, what your life will look like once you accomplish them, and how you will feel when you accomplish them. Read what you wrote in the morning to set your mindset for the day.
